Ingredients for strawberry smoothie. Strawberries, honey, plant-based milk

Strawberries – you can use fresh or frozen strawberries. If you use frozen strawberries, the smoothie will not require chilling since it will already be cold. It will also be thicker and will resemble a strawberry milkshake. Try using organic strawberries since strawberries are on the dirty dozen list.

Dairy-free milk – I usually use Almond milk, but any dairy-free, plant-based milk would work. Coconut milk would be a great choice if you want to make the strawberry smoothie AIP friendly.

Liquid sweetener – I like to use raw unfiltered honey for its health benefits. However, other sweeteners would also work, such as maple syrup or agave syrup.

Tips on how to make a Strawberry smoothie

Cutting the strawberries in half will help blending them better.

If the smoothie is not sweet enough or too sweet, feel free to add extra sweetener or more dairy-free milk.

Using frozen strawberries will give a thicker texture to the smoothies.

For a strawberry milkshake, top it with some coconut whipped cream.

If you do not have any milk available, you can also use water. The milk gives the smoothie a creamier texture; however, it will still taste amazing if you decide to use water.
