Plant-based milk like coconut milk, almond milk, or oat milk
Organic free-range eggs
Cinnamon
Vanilla
Coconut syrup or Maple syrup or Agave Syrup
Oil or Dairy-free butter. In this recipe I used the butter alternative from Wildly Organic.
What kind of bread to use for a gluten-free French Toast?
Most store-bought gluten-free bread will work for French toast. Actually gluten-free breads work better than regular bread, because they are denser and might not come apart as easy as the regular breads. You can use your own gluten-free bread if you make your own.
Healthy sides and toppings for French Toast
Fresh or frozen berries like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries
Organic peaches
Bananas
Uncured bacon or sausage
Nut butter or sunflower butter
Coconut whipped cream
Maple syrup or Agave syrup. I love to use on our French toast the Coconut syrup from Wildly Organic. It has a caramel taste and taste amazing overall.
Coffee, tea, or fresh-squeezed orange juice
Tip for a great healthy French toast
Let the bread in the egg and milk mixture soak for few minutes
Older bread will work better than fresh one
Use organic ingredients when possible. I love to use the Wildly Organic products because they are always fresh and high-quality ingredients.
