This Mongolian Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry made with fresh ginger and Coconut Aminos, tastes heavenly and the entire family fell in love with it, the first time I made it. I also made it when we had company, and everyone loved it including the children. It is super easy to make and it’s healthy and refreshing. Because of allergies, I replaced soy sauce with coconut aminos, in order to be gluten-free and soy-free. I love coconut aminos, it tastes amazing and is such a great alternative to soy sauce.
Ingredients and Directions on how to make this healthy Mongolian Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Ingredients you need:
Grass-fed Grass-finished Flank Steak or Sirloin Steak or Beef Tenderlion
Fresh or Frozen Organic Broccoli
Fresh Ginger
Garlic
Green onions or leeks
Apple (Optional)
Turbinado sugar or Coconut Sugar (for Paleo, Whole30, and AIP)
Tapioca starch or Arrowroot flour
Organic White Rice or Cauliflower rice ( for Paleo, Whole30, and AIP)
Sesame seeds (Optional if allergies are present)
Directions on How to make Mongolian Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry that is Allergy Friendly
Step 1
Cook the rice, and set it aside.
Step 2
Peel and cut the ginger and garlic in small pieces.Wash and cut the greens onions.
Step 3
Add them to an iron skillet with some olive oil and cook at low temperature for few minutes, until soft.
Step 4
Cut the meat in thin small strips or diced it and add it to the skillet.
Step 5
Cook the meat for 3-4 mins until it becomes brown.
Step 6
Meanwhile, wash and cut the broccoli in small pieces. Add them to the skillet. Dice the apple and add it too, if using. It is optional, but it does give it a great sweet flavor to the dish. Add part of the sesame seeds, and reserve the rest for later. You can skip the sesame seeds, if you have allergies to sesame. Cover the skillet with a lid, and cook them until broccoli and apple is soft.
Step 7
In a saucer pan, add the sugar with some water and simmer it on medium heat, until sugar has melted.
Step 8
Add the tapioca flour, coconut aminos, and sugar water to the skillet, and mix until all is incorporated and until it becomes thicker. The tapioca flour will make the stir fry become thicker.
Step 9
Serve over rice or cauliflower rice.
