This is probably the easiest vegan chocolate ganache you can make, using ingredients you already have on hand. I feel like I am letting you in my secret chocolate ganache group by sharing this recipe with you:).
I have made this version of vegan chocolate ganache for a while now. I discovered it not long after our son was diagnosed with multiple food allergies – when it got difficult to use regular frosting. We tried different vegan frosting recipes, but we settled on this one since it’s so easy to make. We used it for gluten-free dairy-free birthday cakes, cupcakes, brownies,as a healthy chocolate fruit dip, or ice-cream topping. It’s delightful and super easy to make.
I used it for this Vegan Chocolate Blueberry Cupcakes with Chocolate Raspberry Frosting that are absolutely delicious and are also Paleo, AIP, and Whole30 Approved.
Ingredients and Directions for Vegan Chocolate Ganache or Vegan Frosting
Aren’t you dying to know what the two ingredients are?
The ingredients for this chocolate ganache are cocoa powder and maple syrup or honey. That’s it, I promise. It’s easy and vegan and fast, and no melting of chocolate or anything else involved.
To make this vegan chocolate ganache, you mix the cocoa powder with maple syrup. You can use a hand or stand mixer (you will get faster results), or you can mix it with a spoon, in case you want to exercise those arm muscles. Who said that moms don’t exercise?
Important, especially if you mix the ingredients manually, when you first start to mix the two you will think you might need to add more liquid because the cocoa doesn’t seem to mix in. But, don’t do it yet, keep mixing and soon the two will mix and become a silky, creamy ganache.
Notes:
If it tastes too dark, than you can add in more sweetener. Just start with a small amount since maple syrup and honey are pretty sweet and you will not need much to change the sweetness. Follow the same steps if it turns too sweet, you can add a little bit of cocoa at the time.
You can use the chocolate ganache instead of frosting for chocolate cake, or chocolate cupcakes. You can also add it to your kids ‘ lunches for a healthy chocolate fruit dip.
A mixer would make it easier to mix the chocolate ganache. This Kitchenaid stand mixer is amazing and can save you a lot of time in the kitchen. It can do so much more than mixing, like shredding cooked chicken, mashed potatoes, mixing ground beef, granola bars, guacamole, or mixing dough for cakes and cookies.
